Cold War Planning
Now that Fall In is over we need to turn our attention to Cold Wars. I have created a forum thread regarding people interested in running demos at the Piquet booth. Please post a reply to this thread if you plan on attending Cold Wars and would consider running a demo at the Piquet booth.

We have rquested 4 tables in line and opposing eachother and if we get them we will have plenty of space (12'x12') to have a demo table at the booth.

If by chance we do not get our fourth table then we will have to run the demos in the traditional gaming areas so we do need to start planning this now so we can submit the games for the PEL if needed.

Please post what period/supplement you would like to run a demo for and if you have the figures to do it. It is my intention to build the game tables based on the demo submission so for right now no one needs to worry about terrain.

FoB: In my opinion.
Hi,

I've played a few games of FoB now. At first I was a bit sceptical -
probably because I'm so used to playing standard PK that everything
else / new seems like hard work.

However, now I have the basic concepts, and most of what happens on
odd / even results, I have to say that in my opinion, these rules
are the best horse and musket set of rules around. They will be my
first choice rules when my 7YW stuff marches again. Cartouche to the
dusty shelf!

Peter J. and I played the scaled down version of Kolin last night
using FoB (the one from "The Age of Reason" supplement). Great game
(blimey those Prussians can march), historical result, finished in 3
hours (and that included initial dicing and deck sorting, plus a
fair amount of rule checking).

We especially liked the way that the rules did away with a lot of
piddling around: Cavalry win big = cut the enemy to bits Bayreuth
Dragoon style. Charge routers in the rear and the routers win = the
routers run away faster thus avoiding casualties (we found this rule
so astonishingly elegant and simple we could not understand why we
had not seen it elsewhere before - absolutely inspired.) The only
problem we had was remembering to put units out of command - a few
more games and this will become "second nature".

Nice work Brent!

James Roach.
